Xander Resources Announces New Advisory Board and Option Grants
Vancouver, British Columbia / September 28, 2020 – Xander Resources Inc. (TSXV: XND) (FSE: 1XI) (the “Company”) announces that it has formed a new Advisory Board consisting of Michael Dehn, Eric Allard, Donald Baxter and Paul McGuigan. The Company has granted incentive stock options at an exercise price of $0.26 per share, to purchase a total of (i) 200,000 common shares to the Advisory Board members for a period of three years, and (ii) 50,000 common shares to a consultant of the Company for a period of one year, in accordance with the provisions of the Company’s stock option plan.
Michael Dehn – Chief Advisor
Mr. Dehn has over 25 years of solid experience in Canada’s exploration and mining industry. Between 1994 and 2005, he worked as an exploration geologist and later became senior geologist with Goldcorp. During his 11-year tenure with Goldcorp, Mr. Dehn played a vital role in Goldcorp’s regional exploration programs within the Red Lake gold district of Northern Ontario, as well as with the Goldcorp challenge, where all of Goldcorp’s Red Lake Mine data were shared with the public and outside experts had the opportunity to win prizes totalling $575,000 if they were able to help identify and locate the next six million ounces of gold within the Red Lake mine. His expertise lies in grassroots to advanced mineral exploration, and advancing, marketing and financing junior exploration companies with dynamic potential.
As a geologist, Mr. Dehn is considered by many in the gold mining and exploration industry to be one of the foremost authorities understanding the various idiosyncrasies of the Red Lake gold camp and the many surrounding gold districts. In his previous roles with other successful mining and junior exploration companies, Mr. Dehn has been instrumental in positioning the junior gold exploration company for both strategic and operational successes very rapidly under his guidance. Mr. Dehn has proven himself as a visionary, gold discoverer and trusted adviser, by introducing unique and strategic investor groups, often outside of the mining arena, to new world-class exploration opportunities within proven and newly emerging gold camps in Ontario, Canada.
Eric Allard, P. Eng
Mr. Allard is a geological engineer with 20 years’ experience in project and operations management for exploration mining, oil & gas and construction engineering. Mr. Allard has held various positions as VP operations in junior mining companies in Canada and Africa and has been managing a geophysical services company in Canada for the last 10 years. He has participated in all levels of company management from sales and business management to technical project management. He is a member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
Donald Baxter, P. Eng
Mr. Baxter is one of the premier graphite experts outside of China, having built one of only two producing graphite mines in North America. Don is presently Chief Executive Officer and Director of Applied Graphite Technologies. He is also a Director is Ceylon Graphite (TSXV:CYL). Prior to this, Don served as President, CEO and Executive Director of Alabama Graphite Corp, successfully completing the company’s disruptive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and introducing a new, battery-focused strategy. As President and Chief Operating Officer of Focus Graphite Inc., Don led Focus Graphite to wide recognition in the graphite industry, updated the company’s PEA and advanced the company to a completed Feasibility Study. He was also responsible for rapidly advancing the development of value-added graphite products, namely coated spherical purified graphite for the lithium-ion battery sector.
Don served as President of Northern Graphite Corporation and was responsible for all technical aspects relating to the Bissett Creek graphite project, including the company’s Feasibility Study, metallurgical test work, environmental and mine permitting, as well as developing battery-related graphite products. Don also served as Mine Superintendent at the Kearney Graphite Mine and was Director of Mining at Ontario Graphite Ltd. Don holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University, is a past member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Advanced Technology Batteries International (NAATBatt International) — a US-based not-for-profit trade association commercializing advanced electrochemical energy-storage technology for emerging, high-tech applications — and is a ‘Qualified Person’ as defined by National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) guidelines.
Paul McGuigan, P.Geo.
Mr.McGuigan is a Professional Geoscientist, has 45 years of international experience in economic geology and mineral exploration management, spanning grassroots exploration through to mine feasibility studies and mining operations. Early in his career, he was employed by IBM Canada Ltd., Geological Survey of Canada, Pechiney Ugine Kuhlmann, Imperial Oil, and Esso Minerals Canada. For the last thirty-four years, Mr. McGuigan has operated in West Africa, the Middle East, SW Pacific, and all North and South America. His geological expertise includes iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG), volcanogenic massive sulphide, porphyry Cu-Mo-Au, epithermal and orogenic gold, platinum, and diamond deposits. He was a founder of Diamond Quest Laboratories. He has held directorship positions in several publicly listed mining companies and is experienced with corporate governance, multi-party negotiations, public disclosure, compliance, and fund-raising for mineral exploration and mine development projects. In the public service, he was a member of the Consulting Practice and the Geoscience Committees of the Engineers and Geoscientist of BC, and President of the BC Centre for Ability Foundation.
Option Grant to New CEO
As announced earlier today, Mr. James H. Hirst has been appointed the new CEO and a director of the Company. The Company has granted 125,000 stock options to Mr. Hirst at an exercise price of $0.26 per share for a period of five years in accordance with the provisions of the Company’s stock option plan.
